Description
Who could forget the old wire and the long forgotten rope knot joined together in perfect harmony yet forgotten and abandoned by time. The came from different spheres of life, yet some stranger united the pieces in simplicity by tying the old white rope around the rust covered strips of wire and now they are joined in marriage.
Many consider this abstract concept of unity between chalk-and-cheese not suitable for black and white photographer - but why would this be the subject of composition. The toning works OK, the contrasts between back and white really show the unity between these two different materials. Old Wire and Rope Knot reminds us of how often things and objects should not belong together - it is too weird nd surreal to describe why. My photograph illustrates this disharmony.
