Description
Two huge sleeping giants rest on patches of darkened soil. The vast machines sleep, their parts stripped for working spares, their lives as industrial earth movers and construction tools for huge building projects over.
Any engineer and mechanic realizes the importance of spare parts, engine tools, engines, rams, and hydraulics all serve a secondary purpose once removed from the compartments that used to house them.
This black and white image was creatively designed to bring out the details of rust, oil stains, wear and tear, and general decay. Dark brooding skies and oil soaked dirt give the image a sense of contrasts allowing the viewer to feel and smell the essential differences between light and darkness.
This machine photograph works well within an office interior of construction, industrial, or engineering occupations. The quality of the art combined with a suitable frame and choice of mat would help make this striking artwork stand out from a plain white or freshly painted atrium or conference room.
Sleeping Giants is a continuation of the Mechanical Abstract series of photograph wall art images created by photography artist John D Williams.
